Very cool to see. The leopard frogs were notably staying out of the water ditches (jumping out immediately, even when I spooked them in), and I think this snake was part of the reason why.

Including two photos of this dead juvenile snake, found dead in the gravel road at False Cape State Park. It was about 40-50 cm long. I'd like opinions about the ID. I am calling it a red-bellied water snake.
