Maximum longevity: 3.2 years (captivity)
Observations: In the wild, these animals rarely live more than one year. One captive specimen lived for 3.2 years (Richard Weigl 2005). In one study in captivity, animals featured a high mortality, though inadequate husbandry conditions could be to blame (Pucek 1964).
