20 individual Chatham Island Pigeon (Parea) seen feeding on paddocks in the Awatotara Reserve in South Chatham Island. They were observed flying, hopping, feeding on clovers, performing aerial displays and perched on posts/branches. Larger, darker and more robust than the mainland variety, the Chatham Island Pigeon prefers to spend most if its time feeding on the ground.
