I am not positive about the identification of this butterfly, but my best guess is this is a Eufala Skipper (Lerodea eufala) at Walker Ranch Park in northern San Antonio. There are several other very similarly-marked butterflies, (especially when worn), so it could also be a Cloudy Skipper, a Fawn-Spotted Skipper, Julia's Skipper, Liris Skipper or even a Whirlabout.

Before I went to talk to a group of UNT students about urban biologists, I explored just a little bit around Apogee Stadium by campus. There are a few ponds and some walking trails. Nature abounds. :)
Today, I worked from the library, so I stopped by this little park on the way home. Kellis Park has a really nice limestone creek and some nice limestone-y plants. :)
