Barklice are often confused with Psyllids, springtails; however,a general feature for all species is the - domed postclypeus (the area at the front of the head between the antennae and mouth) - long filiform antennae, - the simple wing venation with the characteristic two triangular cells at the tip of the forewing, and a - pronounced tendency to run rather than fly away [National Barkfly Recording Scheme (Britain and Ireland, www.brc.ac.uk/schemes/barkfly/introduction.htm]Phylum: ArthropodaSubphylum: HexapodaClass: Insecta (insects, Insekten)Subclass: PterygotaSuperorder: PsocodeaOrder: Psocoptera (barklice or barkflies, Rindenluse)Suborder: Psocomorpha [24 families, more info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psocoptera] Infraorder: CaeciliusetaeSuperfamily: Caeciliusoidea KOLBE, 1880Family: Caeciliusidae KOLBE, 1880Subfamily: CaeciliusinaeTribus: CoryphaciniGenus: Valenzuela NAVS, 1924 Valenzuela flavidus STEPHENS, 1836please compare: www.biolib.cz/en/taxonimage/id189687/ and bugguide.net/node/view/147556more info: www.brc.ac.uk/schemes/barkfly/introduction.htmand: bugguide.net/node/view/67Germany, Hessen, vic.
