Identification
provided by World Register of Marine Species
An unpublished specimen record for New Zealand included here of Trypanosyllis bidentata in USNM as lot 177800 was not part of Hartman's Eltanin report (1967). As the identifier is unknown, and there is great disparity in depth (51 m versus 549-604 m) and in geography (near shore New Zealand versus mid oceanic Pacific), the identification is questionable. Other Polychaeta lots from the same Eltanin station USARP/EL/16/1431/USC have largely not been identified [G Read October, 2017]
