Maximum longevity: 21.6 years (captivity)
Observations: In the wild, few animals live more than 5-10 years. One pregnant female was about 19-23 years of age (Ronald Nowak 1999). Record longevity, however, belongs to one wild born female who still alive at about 21.6 years of age (Richard Weigl 2005).
