Cuon alpinus (Dhole) is a species of mammals in the family Canidae. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are found in the palearctic and the indo-malayan realm. They are carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 16.1 years.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
