It seems we have to live with this rapidly naturalised moth in future. The green and black caterpillars feeding on any not protected box-bush so these will look very shabby, many owner give up and remove them. I did some protection using Bacillus thuringensis to kill the feeders, pupae like the one in my hand are not attacked by these bacteria which must be ingested therefore.

Cydalima perspectalis (Walker, 1859), to Robinson trap, Søborg, Denmark, 1/2 August 2013 Apparently not previously recorded in Denmark (or at least not recorded here before this year). A pest of cultivated Buxus that has become established in recent years in Germany and is spreading through Europe.
