During the winter heoften comes farther south incompany with his cousin, theRose-breasted Grosbeak. The Sparrows,Buntings, and Crossbills belongto the same family. It is thelargest family among birds. You will notice that they allhave stout bills. Their food ismostly grains and their bills arewell formed to crush the seeds. Look at your back numbers of^^ Birds and notice the picturesof the other Finches I havenamed.
