A Rubber Boa I caught on the trail back from Desolation Lake. It is a true Boa, related to Pythons and Boa Constrictors, that lives in the Mountain forests of the west. She is about 18in long. They are a specialized nocturnal(notice vertical pupils) predator of infant screws, mice, voles, and other small rodents. This is the first live one I have ever seen, all the rest have been road kills.
