A cultivated specimen growing in my garden with the typical white coloration of the flowers. Frequent insect visitors, besides the ants here, are butterflies and flower scarabs such as Euphoria sepulcralis, and the spring-flying Soldier Beetle, Chauliognathus marginatus. In this photo I deliberately opened up the f-stop to blur the background, i.e., to get good bokeh. Usually, I prefer good "fokeh", and that's because I mostly shoot insects, but certainly for flowers, a softer background can be most pleasing.Marshallia_obovataPCCA20070505-2117A
