Summary[edit] Description: Introduced, cool season, annual herb 10-20 cm tall; with spreading hairs. Leaves are alternate above a basal rosette. Flowerheads are terminal, scorpioid cymes. Flowers 5-merous and pedicellate. Sepals are fused at the base. Corollas are actinomorphic, 1-2 mm wide, white or yellow, and turning pale blue with age; the tube is ± funnel-shaped with 5 saccate scales at the throat; lobes spreading. Stamens are included in corolla. The gynobase is low and broad. Mericarps are smooth and shiny. Flowering is in spring and early summer.
