Botanical name - Mollugo cerviana . Common name - Carpet weed . The plant is advocated as Stomachic( a stimulant or tonic for the stomach), Aperient (Laxative)and Antiseptic.It has been found that flowerand tender shoots are Diaphoretic( to increase perspiration) and Febrifuge(an agent that reduces fever). Root boiled in oil is used for Gout (swelling of the joints )and Rheumatism( stiffness and pain in the muscles and swelling in the joints).
