Colonies are horizontal, unifacial, subdividing fronds. Corallites are aligned on the centre of narrow parts of fronds or several may be aligned transversely on broad parts. Colour: pale or orangy-brown. Abundance: uncommon except on some lower reef slopes with soft substrates where monospecific stands may be over 10 m in diameter. (Veron, 1986 <57>)
