Date and authorship are uncertain. According to Schwartz von Mohrenstern (1860: 52), this species was described as Rissoa lamellosa in the Mém. geol. France III, p. 121. However, it is not on that page, or elsewhere, in the Mémoires de la Société géologique de France, the third volume of which was issued in 1838. The species is listed in WoRMS because it is the "mother" of many taxa introduced by Sacco (1895).
