At Bald Point State Park I saw 50+ American Oystercatchers, 3 of which were banded. Below is the information on each of these birds. I will make a separate entry on iNat for each of the three oystercatchers. This one is Black (P3) from Raya Pruner, biologist at Florida Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission Hey Greg  Isnât that a great spot at Bald Point State Park? They arenât always using the closer oyster bars and our crews have to kayak out to check for bands. We are fortunate to be able to survey the area frequently, every 2 weeks during the winter and weekly during the breeding season. That said, you spotted one new oystercatcher that we havenât documented at the park!! It also looks like yours might be the first resight of that individual since it was banded.  Although the information on each of these birds is listed below, weâd ask that you also report the 3 resights at http://amoywg.org/banding-re-sighting/  Black (P3) Banded as a chick in Chesapeake Bay, VA on 7/25/2010 as a chick. Weâve documented this guy at Bald Point SP on and off since January of 2013.  Red (90) Banded as a chick at Tolomato River, FL on 6/1/2015 as a chick. Weâve documented this guy at Bald Point SP on and off since October 2016.  Orange (YCY) First observation at Bald Point SP. Banded on 6/23/2016 at Rockaway Peninsula in NY as a chick. Appears to be the first resight away from NY!!!  Cheers and thanks for sending the resights!! â¨Raya
