Red-necked Stint Calidris ruficollis Gambell, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska 26 May 2012 We saw three different Red-necked Stints over a 5 days period at Gambell, but this was the only one I was able to photograph.

Solitary bird in flock of 20 red capped plovers, (Charadrius ruficapillus see Observation # 2612313) feeding by the water's edge. Similar size to the plovers. Beak seems longer relative to head than I expect with the usual rednecked stint. Possible Little stint?
