Within minutes of my taking this photo, a black-backed gull swooped down and made off with it.

This thrush hung around our campsite looking for crumbs. Assuming it is the same individual, it returned the next day in the second photograph.

Seem to have been fewer about this summer. Or maybe it's just we have none locally resident like we have had in the past. Here's one!

An old reasonably large mud lined nest deep down amongst the basal branches of a young Pinus contorta. Perhaps a song thrush nest, given the mud lining, although I didn't see any in the two hours I was at this site.
