Maximum longevity: 13.5 years (wild)
Observations: Little is known about the longevity of these animals. Maximum longevity from banding studies is 13.5 years (http://www.pwrc.usgs.gov/BBL/homepage/longvrec.htm), but possibly they can live significantly longer.
