Fantail heard as driving along River Rd in suburban red-zoned Christchurch. Observed pied fantail in big tree - photo is not very good owing to fantail wickedness and inept photographic skills with mobile phone.

-
pied fantails - adult and juvenile. Observed in same large old pine as earlier in the day. Adult was feeding juvenile.
-
We saw lots of juvenile fantails in the reserve, including at least ten pied birds in one flock, almost all juvenile.

Pied fantail and 4 x (pied) juveniles in lime tree (?) on River Rd in red-zoned Richmond, opposite Bracken St, across the road from where 303 River Rd used to be, about midday. The 2 x pairs of juveniles were close together in the same tree and seemed to be together - one of one pair joined the other pair. The adult fantail may well be the same individual observed by myself on 25th of December 2014 pretty much in the same location.

3 x pied fantails in my backyard - 2 adults together and a short time later a juvenile (short tail feathers). I often see 1 x pied fantail somewhere nearby where I live (2 or 3 times a week maybe).
