Conus striatellus Link 1807

Thick shell, up to 8 cm, with spire of varying height (mostly short), and with spiral ridges on the lower half of the body whorl. Colouration variable: often creamy orange with darker brown, zigzagging lines on upper part of body whorl and spire, and with brown bands across central and lower half of body whorl; or pale orange with white shoulder mottling and a central band. Aperture bluish white. Habitat: on shallow sand around reefs. Distribution: Indo-Pacific.
