A few otters frequent the bank around the run; you can usually see them in the lilies by the boat launch, although you can never actually get a glimpse of them until they venture out onto the surface.I didn't realize it at the time, but I spotted one at a distance in the run a little earlier, and when we made another foray into the run, these two came right over and started hunting in the grass right in front of me. They cause quite a commotion, what with all the bubbles, splashing, and debris churned up as they do their thing.I think this is it's "Where did that goofball come from and how did it get so close to us" look.River OtterAlexander Springs Recreation AreaOcala National ForestLake County FloridaOlympus OM-D E-M514-42mm II LensPT-EP08 Underwater Housing, PPO-EP01 Lens Port & 14-42mm Zoom Gear
Summary[edit] Description: English: Otter scat, 234 Mitigation Wetlands, Manassas, Virginia. When I joined the 2016 one-a-day picture project, I vowed to myself that I would not post crappy pictures. I lied. Here is a picture of otter crap. You can identify the scat by the scales within it. The scat does not smell crappy, but there is a pronounced fishy odor. Date: 26 December 2016, 08:36:48. OK, maybe it was more of a carefully orchestrated encircling and calculated search for prey, but you won't sell any seats for that show.We knew these otters frequent the bank; you can usually see them working the lilies by the boat launch, although you never actually see them until they venture onto the surface. They came right over and started scouring the grass near the far bank right in front of me. They cause quite a commotion, making a big mess, what with all the bubbles, splashing, and debris churned up. Ordinarily I get pretty peeved when the water gets all stirred up, but since I'm the intruder in their world, I made an exception.River OtterAlexander Springs Recreation AreaOcala National ForestLake County FloridaOlympus OM-D E-M514-42mm II LensPT-EP08 Underwater Housing, PPO-EP01 Lens Port & 14-42mm Zoom Gear
