Anguilla rostrata (American Eel) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family freshwater eels. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and as threatened by COSEWIC. They are associated with freshwater habitat. Individuals are known to live for 50 years and can grow to 152 cm.
