Thunnus thynnus (Northern Bluefin Tuna) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family mackerels. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and as endangered by COSEWIC. Individuals are known to live for 15 years and can grow to 458 cm. Reproduction is iteroparous and oviparous.
