Found in inshore and coastal waters. Feeds on invertebrates and small fishes. Spawns from September to February in South Africa. Little exploited by anglers in Southern Africa; as a by-catch in Tugela Bank prawn fishery. Seldom marketed. Marketed fresh, dried salted.
