Lives in small schools on sandy bottoms. Juveniles are found in the littoral zone, larger fish down to 40 m depth. Feeds on small polychaetes, bivalves, crustaceans and fishes (Ref. 3409). Occurs at a temperature of range of 26.0-29.0 °C (Ref. 4959).
