Description: Wild and crazy purple thistles blooming in the pine flatwoods. Bees, butterflies, skippers, beetles and more love these! It is the larval host plant for the little metalmark. The species name "horridulum" refers to the prickly leaves. The seeds are air-dispersed fluffy white thistle down.
