Guaiacum officinale (Lignum Vitae) is a species of tree in the family Zygophyllaceae. They are listed as endangered by IUCN. They are native to Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Contiguous United States, and The Neotropics. They have blue flowers and loculicidal capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 45 feet.
