See photo below by David Lum of several live specimens of Pustularia cicercula takahashii collected in Hawaii by David Lum on a single dive in 2006. Note that the typical pustulose P. cicercula is rare in Hawaii, while the smooth form is more common, hence its description as a subspecies of P. cicercula
