Snail shell hidden in grass on an exposed ridge track. Found another partial shell further along the track. Interesting to see that the shell is white under the olive/brown skin.

Encountered late-afternoon on a clay track near Lower Nihotupu Reservoir in the Waitakere Ranges. Shell is around 3-4cm long, uniformly coloured (not lighter towards the apex) and very dark â nearly black.
