Just in the middle of the path. Really translucent shell and not the same as the garden snails. Didn't touch so do not know if anyone was home :) On a side track off the Whangakea Track.

Part of 55yr old collection. Location is approximate. Some came from a bit further south on same route. Shells clearly helical compared to the similar Powelliphanta genus. Umbilicus is deep and open. Also have small ridges running parallel to spiral which are more evident in youthful specimens.

The kauri snail spotted trying to cross the road in the morning so it was relocated to moist leaf litter under tree ferns on the side of the road
