Summary[
edit] Description: Also known as saltmarsh fleabane, this wonderful wildflower sometimes grows and blooms heavily along the piney trails on the west side of Juno Dunes but is often mowed. This year vast numbers of them bloomed happily around the edges of little ponds in the south section of the dunes, providing a superb playground for bees, wasps, butterflies and beetles. It is a magnificent butterfly attractor and nectar source. The south section has been jazzed up with cool footbridges over mangrove creeks and a new entrance along Ellison Wilson Road. Park at Bert Winters park and the trail entrance is right across the street!. Date: 8 June 2012, 09:37. Source:

Description: Pluchea is one of my favorite genera and I have been wandering among hundreds of P. odorata and many P. foetida plants lately but this (if my identification is correct) is my first P. baccharis. It was growing with one other plant in the dry bed of a little pond near the start of the boardwalk at Juno Dunes Natural Area. The photo was taken on a sunny breezy morning last month.
