Cuban Bast is one of the 100 common trees in Hong Kong. It is a tall tree which can grow to a height of 15 meters. It is often planted along seashores and beaches for shading and greening purposes. Its hard and tough wood can be used in building and making furniture. Its flowers have medical values and the bast fiber can be used to make ropes. I took this photo in the Kowloon Park, Hong Kong
