Summary[
edit] Description: Balduina angustifolia blooming like tiny yellow explosions of color at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in the sandy, scrubby margins of pine flatwoods. These were near some Turkey Oaks. In 1972, scientists identified a new anti-tumor agent, with the imposing description of "a cytotoxic sesquiterpene lactone" from this beautiful plant and named it Augustibalin. It has also been found to contain an antiviral compound. I believe it heals simply by being beautiful! Here is the short slideshow video I made to celebrate the Balduinas:
