This one had just captured a Giant Crane Fly. Another crane fly kept buzzing it and was apparently trying to mate with the hapless victim. I can't imagine that it was trying to harass the Milkweed assassin bug. I don't think crane flies are that smart.

Single individual observed on Salvia microphylla hot lips. This is the first time in weeks that I have observed any of this species at the location. In contrast, earlier this year, they were frequently observed. Sunny, breezy, low 70s.
