Calystegia stebbinsii—Stebbins's morning glory. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.1 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). Also listed by the State of California as Endangered and by the Federal Government as 'Endangered '. Discovered by and named for G. Ledyard Stebbins, UC Davis professor, a founding member of the California Native Plant Society, and one of the most important evolution theorists of the 20th Century. C. stebbinsii grows on the Pine Hill gabbro intrusion in El Dorado and Nevada counties and is threatened by the pressures of urbanization.
