Locality: NEW ZEALAND AK, suburb of Saint Johns, University of Auckland Tamaki Campus. Habitat: Grass clippings. Identification: Tetramorium bicarinatum (Nylander, 1846). Worker. Notes: This may be the only individual that I have observed on campus here. Note the coarsely sculptured petiole and post-petiole (third photo), which distinguishes it from Tetramorium grassii, the only other species of the genus known to be present in N.Z.
