Summary[edit] Description: There are several similar shrubby pink flowering Robinias, nothing like the huge false acacia tree (Robinia pseudacacia) including R.fertilis, elliotii, hartweggii, luxurians and, possibly the best of them, kelseyi, all very lovely and all too rarely seen here in the UK. If anybody in the USA (where these all come from) reads this and knows where I can get some seed I'd be very interested. Date: 3 May 2011, 14:19. Source: Robinia hispida buds. Summary[edit] Description: Another species that should be seen all over the place but which is hardly ever available. It should be a lovely leafy semi scrambling shrub, reminiscent of a rambling rose, but this specimen, bought from, I think, Larch Cottage nurseries five or six years ago had clearly been on the nursery, in its pot, way too long and is never likely to get going. The rest of this plant is a gangly twig and the photo is of the small topknot of shoots. Nevertheless, this is the best flowering since it was planted. I'm going to see if i can pollinate them and get some seed. Date: 3 May 2011, 14:20. Source: Robinia hispida buds. Author: peganum from Small Dole, England.
