Comarostaphylis diversifolia ssp. planifolia—flat leaf summer holly. Found on the Channel Islands and in the Western Transverse Ranges on the mainland. The Flora of North America says that the species often grows in association with other Ericaceae species. The genus name comes from the cluster of fruit.
