Summary[
edit] Description: English: Rapala diopites, male, female, Philippines, from original description. Date: 12 June 2012. Source: Illustrations of Diurnal Lepidoptera 1869. Author: W. C. Hewitson. Note[
edit] Takanami, 1986, Tyo to Ga Vol. 36(4): 185, noted that the specimen shown in Fig 54, in BMNH, is actually a female of Rapala nissa and probably comes from India, not Philippines. Takanami also designated a female Lectotype of diopites in the Semper collection, Senckenberg Museum Frankfurt, and this may be the insect depicted in Fig 52. The identity of the female shown underside is not certain.
