Gibbobruchus mimus, a little 3 mm leaf beetle, often found on flowers. I found this one on
Verbesina virginica in my garden. They have a lot of depth to them, and move around a lot, so it is difficult to get a single diagnostic shot--one here shows the elytra and one the head and pronotum.
