A number of these arboreal vipers were seen in the coastal zone along the upper backshore of Bako National Park. This juvenile has been still for quite some time.

Tropidolaemus wagleri (Boie, 1827), Waglers Lanzenotter Family: Viperidae Subfamily: Crotalinae The guide called it "ular bulan" (Bahasa Indonesia for Moon snake). It laid about 1.5m above the ground in twigs of a small tree. The head was covered... so I made a mistake and touched it - softly - with my mono-pod.
