Caught under small flat rock with a moderate amount of ants. About midway up the hillside.

Flipped under a small rock on the hillside of Bamberger Ranch Preserve. Snake was very calm and sitting with a bunch of fire ants. I got bit by some of the ants but I'm sure this snake was enjoying it's ant snack.

Seen crossing the road at sunset about a day after heavy storms. Rare to see these above ground! Confirmed three scales between eyes. Will probably deposit at the ARDRC.
