Description: A young Florida Scrub Lizard took time out from scurrying around to show me his awesome blue belly. They are endemic to Florida and, unfortunately, threatened due to habitat loss. The scrub they live in occurs only on ancient dunes and ridges..also a prime habitat for condominiums. Development breaks up and isolates populations. Pretty much anything with "Scrub" in front of it's name is threatened. Jupiter Ridge Natural Area. The Six-lined Racerunner (photo in the comments below) also lives in the scrub.
