More than a dozen individuals seen at the site. First recognized in the park in July of 2013. This is the second location for this species in the park away from the HQ area, but the species is likely widespread in the park.
-
"First ""official"" record of the species for the park, although the species has likely been here for some time, based on the number of individuals observed over the summer. The species status in the region is further detailed in this publication: http://acadianes.org/journal/papers/clements13-3.pdf"

BugGuide says it is E. pallidus, but awaiting to hear some sort of extra confirmation or explanation as to why it isn't E. lapponicus which is apparently the only recorded species in Fundy National Park and the Maritime provinces. Found along side this critter http://inaturalist.ca/observations/3502953 which superficially looks different to me, but I know nothing of Blattodea.

I know nothing of Blattodea, but apparently the only species in the Maritime provinces is E. lapponicus. According to BugGuide however, I may have found E. pallidus (observation found here)along side the critter pictured in this observation...if that helps or hinders anyone attempting an ID.

As per Bugguide here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/1250746, ID only possible to genus level with this picture. So far, only E. lapponicus has been formally documented from the Park, however, E. pallidus has also been suggested for a record submitted to Bugguide.
