Attracted to a blacklight (or adjacent porchlight). This was new for the yard and although neither MPG nor BG has records for Travis County, Gillaspy (undated) collected 17 individuals at Brackenridge Field Labs several years ago. There were at least two of these spectacular little golden bronze moths, 6 mm long, in the Carex growing along the edge of this house.

Locality: NEW ZEALAND AK, suburb of Saint Johns, University of Auckland Tamaki Campus. Habitat: Grasses. Identification: Glyphipterix simpliciella (Stephens, 1834). NOTE: This is my first recorded observation for this species, but possibly only because I have ignored/overlooked it until now.
