Description: Stropharia rugosoannulata Farl. ex Murrill Image location: Campinhos State Park, Tunas do Paraná, Paraná, Brazil Size of the disk: around 15 cm.It was found in what was originaly Araucaria moist forest. This area was heavily damaged for exploration of wood, but is now in process of recovery. Calcareous soil. A friend told me that it was a wine cap mushroom (Stropharia rugosoannulata), but literature I found says that that species occurs in Europe and North America only. Although wine cap is an edible (and very appreciated) mushroom, I haven’t notice of its introduction in Brazil. Recognized by sight : For more information about this, see the observation page at Mushroom Observer. English | español | français | italiano | македонски | മലയാളം | português | +/−. Summary[edit] Description: Stropharia rugosoannulata Farl. ex Murrill Observation Notes: I am finding these in small groups or 2-4, sometimes alone. They seem to grow in wood chips at the edges of tall grass—-so the light would be a little more indirect for them. The surrounding area in native Minnesota prairie plants and grasses. They seem to have almost no odor. I would guess the stipe to be solid and have not yet done a spore print. Very pronounced annulus. : For more information about this, see the observation page at Mushroom Observer.. Date: 13 June 2010. Summary[edit] Description: The cap color, star-like annulus, smooth stalk are characteristic. Found these growing on mulch in an office park June 15, 2007 Update November 01, 2007. Found a group of these mushrooms at the different location. The interesting thing is that caps on these were of straw color, however all other features matched perfectly. Don't rely on color when identifying mushrooms. Fried a few younger mushrooms. They have exact smell and taste of fried potatoes!. Date: 17 June 2007, 20:07.
