The Pied-billed Grebe in this photo bit and shook the crayfish until all the pinchers and most of the legs came off. Then down the hatch!

I love this photo. I was about to step in the creek when he threw his claws up. :) Wonderful husband took me hiking for my birthday. Most observations are along the Homestead Trail.
