Usnea intermedia—western bushy beard lichen. The most common fruticose lichen in the garden. Lichen is on Rhodendron occidentale. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA 10/21/2014—According to Consortium of North American Lichen Herbara "There are no visible differences between the western North American (U. arizonica, U. retifera) and the European specimens (U. intermedia), and therefore they are considered here as conspecific." I have changed my identification to agree with the Consortium. lichenportal.org/portal/taxa/index.php?taxon=54720
